Krull, Annie (actually, Marie Anna)

Krull, Annie(actually, Marie Anna) , German soprano; b. Rostock, Jan. 12, 1876; d. Schwerin, June 14, 1947. She was a student in Berlin of Hertha Brämer. In 1898 she made her operatic debut in Plauen. From 1901 to 1910 she was a member of the Dresden Court Opera, where she was chosen to create Ulana in Paderewski’s Manru (May 29, 1901), and Strauss’s Di-emut in Feuersnot (Nov. 21, 1901) and Elektra (Jan. 25, 1909). In 1910 she appeared as Elektra at London’s Covent Garden, and then sang in Mannheim (1910–12), Weimar (1912–14), and Schwerin (1914–15).
