Kiurina, Bertct
Kiurina, Bertct, Austrian soprano; b. Linz, Feb. 19, 1882; d. Vienna, May 3, 1933. She studied voice with Geiringer at the Vienna Cons. She made her operatic debut in Linz in 1904, then sang at the Vienna Court (later State) Opera (1905-22; 1926-27). She also made guest appearances in Salzburg, Berlin, and Buenos Aires. A fine coloratura, she excelled in such roles as the Queen of the Night, Desdemona, Gilda, Eva, and the Empress in Die Frau ohne Schatten.
