Kirckman, Jacob
Kirckman, Jacob (b Bischweiler, nr. Strasbourg, 1710; d Greenwich, 1792). Ger. organist and composer. Settled in Eng. c.1730 to work for Tabel, hpd.-maker, and became first of line of distinguished hpd.-makers. Wrote several org. pieces. Succeeded by nephew, Abraham, who extended business to pf. manufacture and made last hpd. in 1809. Business merged with Collard, 1898.
