Joy, Geneviève

Joy, Geneviève, French pianist; b. Bernaville, Oct. 4, 1919. She studied at the Paris Cons, with Yves Nat (piano) and Jean and Noël Gallon (theory), and received the Premier Prix in piano in 1941. In 1945 she married Henri Dutilleux. She specialized in modern music; gave numerous first performances of piano works by French composers, some of them written especially for her.
