Jokl, Georg
Jokl, Georg, Austrian composer, brother of Otto Jokl; b. Vienna, July 31, 1896; d. N.Y., July 29, 1954. He studied with Schreker, and was active as an accompanist and teacher in Vienna. In 1938 he settled in N.Y., Among his works are a Sym., a symphonic poem, Heldensang (Königsberg, 1923), and Burletta piccola for Wind Instruments (1952).
