Herincx, Raimund [ Raymond Herincx] (b London, 1927). Eng. bass-baritone. Sang in concerts in Belg. and Fr. 1950. Opera début Cardiff (WNO) 1957, as Boito's Mefistofele, later singing Scarpia, Nabucco, and Pizarro. SW Opera 1957–67 (incl. Segura in f.p. of Our Man in Havana, 1963). NY concert début 1966; CG début 1968. Created Faber in The Knot Garden (CG 1970), the White Abbot in Taverner (CG 1972 and at Amer. première, Boston 1986), and the Governor in We Come to the River (CG 1976). Sang Wotan and Hagen in ENO Ring cycle 1970–4 and in Seattle 1977–81. Salzburg Easter Fest. début 1973; NY Met début 1977.
