Häser, Charlotte (Henriette)
Häser, Charlotte (Henriette), German soprano, sister of August Ferdinand Häser; b. Leipzig, June 24, 1784; d. Rome, May 1, 1871. She studied with her father, the composer Johann Georg Haser (1729–1809), then sang in Dresden. In 1806 she went to Italy, where she enjoyed tremendous success. She was also one of the first women to sing male roles. After she left the stage, she settled in Rome.
