Hagen, Friedrich Heinrich von der, German scholar; b. in the Ukraine, Feb. 19, 1780; d. Berlin, June 11, 1856. He was a prof, of German literature at the Univ. of Berlin. He publ, the valuable collection Minnesinger (5 vols., 1838-56; in Vol. Ill are Minnegesänge in notation according to the Jena Codex and other sources, with a treatise on the music of the Minnesinger), as well as Melodien zu der Sammlung deutscher, vlämischer und fran-zösicher Volkslieder (1807; with Büsching).
