Filleul, Henry
Filleul, Henry, French composer; b. Laval, May 11, 1877; d. Saint-Omer, May 1, 1959. He studied at the Paris Cons, with Lavignac and Casadesus. In 1908 he became director of the Ecole Nationale de Musique at St. Omer.

Le Jugement de Triboulet, comic opera (1923); 5 oratorios: Le Christ vainqueur (1925), Le Miracle de Lourdes (1927), Les Doulces Joyes de Nostre Dame (1928), Jeanne d’Arc (1929), and Eva (1931); Variations symphonicjues sur un theme languedocien (1939); Fantaisie concertante for Piano and Orch. (1950); Cello Concerto; violin pieces, with organ; motets; men’s choruses.
