Ferni-Giraldoni, Carolina
Ferni-Giraldoni, Carolina, Italian soprano, mother of Eugenic Giraldoni; b. Como, Aug. 20, 1839;d. Milan, June 4, 1926. She studied violin in Paris and Brussels, and later took voice lessons with Pasta. She made her debut as Leonora in La Favorite in Turin in 1862, then sang at La Scala in Milan (1866–68). She retired in 1883 and taught voice, numbering Caruso as one of her pupils. She was married to Leone Giraldoni .
