Exaudet, André-Joseph, French violinist and composer; b. Rouen, c. 1710; d. Paris, 1762. After serving as first violinist of the Academie de Musique in Rouen, he settled in Paris and played in the orchs. of the Opera (1749–62) and the Concert Spirituel (1751–62). He was a fine violinist and an accomplished composer for his instrument; a minuet from his Trio Sonata No. 1, op.2, became quite popular.
