Drechsler, Karl
Drechsler, Karl, German cellist and teacher; b. Kamenz, May 27, 1800; d. Dresden, Dec. 1, 1873. He studied in Dresden with F. Dotzauer (1824–26) and was a cellist in the Dessau Court Orch. (1820–71). Among his distinguished pupils were B. Cossmann, F. Grutzmacher, A. Lindner, and C. Schroder.
