Correa de Arauxo, Francisco
Correa de Arauxo, Francisco , important Spanish organist; b. Seville, c. 1576; d. Segovia, Oct. 31, 1654. He held the post of organist at the Church of San Salvador in Seville (1599–1636), at the Cathedral of Jaen (1636–40), and at Segovia (from 1640 until his death). His Facultad orgànica (orig. publ. in Alcalà de Henares, 1626) contains 70 pieces for organ in tablature (most of them his own compositions), reproduced in the series Monumentos de la Musica Espan˜ola, ed. by S. Kastner (Madrid, 1950).
