cabinet organ. Amer. nomenclature for what in Eng. is called Amer. org. This resembles the harmonium, but the air is sucked through the reeds instead of being forced through them and the tone is less pungent. Invented by worker in Alexandre's Paris factory but developed in Boston, Mass.
