Blamont, François Colin de, French composer; b. Versailles, Nov. 22, 1690; d. there, Feb. 14, 1760. He was a pupil of Delalande. He became superintendent of the King’s music. Among his works were many court ballets, cantatas, and motets. He also publ. Essai sur les goûts anciens et modernes de la musique française (1754).
