Binički, Stanislav

Binički, Stanislav, Serbian composer and conductor; b. Jasika, near Kruševca, July 27, 1872; d. Belgrade, Feb. 15, 1942. He studied at the Univ. of Belgrade, and later took courses in composition with Rheinberger in Munich. Returning to Belgrade, he helped organize the Serbian School of Music; was also active as an opera conductor. He composed a number of incidental pieces for the theater, the opera Na uranku (Dawn; Belgrade, Jan. 2, 1904), and choruses and songs.
