Bertalotti, Angelo Michele
Bertalotti, Angelo Michele, Italian composer and teacher; b. Bologna, April 8, 1666; d. there, March 30, 1747. He studied in Bologna, then sang in the choirs of S. Luigi dei Francesi and S. Agostino in Rome (1687–90). In 1693 he became singing master at the Scuole Pie in Bologna, where he was a member of the choir of S. Petronio from 1705. He publ. Regole facilissime (1706 and subsequent eds.). His Solfeggi a canto e alto dati alle stampe per comodo delli putti delle Scuole pie (1744; rev. ed., 1764) retains its value as a choral method.
