Bendinelli, Agostino
Bendinelli, Agostino, Italian composer and teacher; b. Lucca, April 26, 1635; d. there, c. 1703. He was active as canon of St. John Lateran in Rome, and also served as superintendent of the monastery of S. Frediano in Lucca and as prior of S. Agostino in Piacenza and S. Leonardo in Lucca. His most famous pupil was G.M. Bononcini. His only extant publication is his Psalmi vespertini ternis, quaternis, quinisque vocibus ad organum concinendi una cum litanis BVM, op. 1 (Bologna, 1671).
