Becker, Hugo (b Strasbourg, 1863; d Geiselgasteig, 1941). Ger. cellist. Member of Heermann Qt. 1890–1906. Taught during that time at Frankfurt Cons. From 1910 prin. vc. teacher, Berlin Hochschule. Cellist in trios with Schnabel and Flesch, and Ysaÿe and Busoni. Comp. vc. conc. (1898) and short pieces.
