Bacilly, Bénigne de

Bacilly, Bénigne de, French composer and teacher; b. c. 1625; d. Paris, Sept. 27, 1690. He composed a number of sacred and secular vocal works, but he is best known for an important vocal treatise, Remarques curieuses sur l’art de bien chanter (Paris, 1668; Eng. tr., 1968).
