Anitúa, Fanny
Anitúa, Fanny, Mexican mezzo-soprano; b. Durango, Jan. 22, 1887; d. Mexico City, April 4, 1968. She studied in Rome, where she made her operatic debut as Gluck’s Orfeo (1909). She then sang at Milan’s La Scala (from 1910), and also throughout South (1911–27) and North (1913) America. Her other roles included Rosina, Cenerentola, Azucena, and Mistress Quickly.
