Without Reservations
Without Reservations ★★½ 1946
Hollywood-bound novelist Colbert encounters Marine flyer Wayne and his pal (DeFore) aboard a train. She decides he would be perfect for her newest movie. They both dislike her famous book and don't realize they're traveling with the renowned author. Misadventures and misunderstandings abound as this trio make their way to Tinseltown. Of course, Colbert and Wayne fall in love. Boxoffice success with a tired script and too few real laughs. The Duke is interesting but miscast. Based on the novel “Thanks, God, I'll Take It From Here” by Jane Allen. 101m/B VHS . Claudette Colbert, John Wayne, Don De-Fore, Phil Brown, Frank Puglia; Cameos: Louella Parsons, Cary Grant, Jack Benny; D: Mervyn LeRoy; C: Milton Krasner.
