Kiju Han (Ahn) was a youthful infantry soldier in the South Korean Army's decorated White Horse Division, which fought alongside American troops in Vietnam. Now a writer, and having long suffered from post-tramatic stress, Han decides to use his experiences for his latest work. Flashbacks showcase a reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines that caused one of Han's men to go insane and in the present, Han has a reunion with this soldier in order to confront his own painful past.
