Opening with the 1979 assassination of South Korean President Park Chung Hee, film depicts the trauma and struggle of the more than 300,000 Korean soldiers sent to Vietnam to fight alongside the Americans. Reporter, and war vet, Han (Ahn) is assigned to write about the conflict, which takes on unexpected personal conflicts as he encounters traumatized war buddy Pyon (Lee) and tries to deal with his own repressed memories of the war.
