Sure Fire
Sure Fire ★★ 1990
Wes (Blair) is a mercurial entrepreneur who thinks he has found the financial ticket to paradise with his vacation home scheme. Much to the chagrin of his wife Ellen (Dezina), he refuses to let anything stand in the way of his sure-fire fortune, even his family. Wes develops a little self-control as he realizes he's beginning to flake out, but it may be too late. Director Jost has put together a surprisingly unpretentious film with a virtually no-name cast, its plot speaking volumes on the American condition while unfolding in the bleak Utah desert. 86m/C VHS, DVD . Tom Blair, Kristi Hager, Robert Ernst, Kate Dezina, Phillip R. Brown; D: Jon Jost; W: Jon Jost.
