Season of Change
Season of Change ★½ 1994
Tepid coming of age saga set in rural Montana, circa 1946. Thirteenyearold Sally Mae (Tom) notices the tensions between her Bible-bound mother (Anderson) and war vet dad (Madsen), who's worried about finding a job to support his family. Sally Mae tries to understand all these adult notions even as she herself becomes attracted to teen mechanic Bobby (Randall). Cliched script and awkward performances don't help. 93m/C VHS, DVD . Nicholle Tom, Michael Madsen, Jo Anderson, Hoyt Axton, Ethan (Randall) Embry; D: Robin Murray; W: Shirley Hillard.
