A Scandal in Paris ★★½ Thieves Holiday 1946
Based on the reallife escapades of 19th-century criminal Fran cois Eugene Vidocq. Vidocq (Sanders) es capes from prison, briefly joins Napoleon's army, and catches the eye of Therese (Hasso), whose father is an important offi cial. Under an assumed name, Vidocq joins the Paris police force in order to perpetrate his biggest crime. Instead, thanks to Therese's love, he goes straight.
