Running Wild ★★½ 1999

Harrison stars as Maj. Matt Robinson, a retired Air Force pilot who has taken a position with the U.N. to track elephant migrations in Africa. He takes his children Angela (Nevin) and Nicholas (Jones) with him. Once they arrive in Africa, Matt meets a pretty veternarian, Rachel (Hallier) and a guide, Isaac (Kanaventi). They enjoy a great adventure until Matt realizes that there are many elephanthunting poachers in the area, and when they threaten Angela and Nicholas, Matt and Rachel spring into action to rescue the children. Fun film for the entire family, although a bit too preachy at times concerning the plight of endangered animals. Contains fine performances, as well as breathtaking nature photography. Horrorindustry vet Harry Alan Towers executive produced this family film, which was directed by the writer of the slasher classic “Happy Birthday to Me”! 92m/C VHS, DVD . Gregory Harrison, Lori Hallier, Cody Jones, Brooke Nevin, Munyaradzi Kanaventi; D: Timothy Bond. CABLE
