Boxing biopic about the up-from-poverty Rocky (Favreau) who, as heavyweight champ, had 43 knockouts and who retired in 1956 undefeated. (He was killed in a 1969 plane crash.) Marciano has the usual tribulations—greedy managers and overly interested mobsters—and a climatic bout with his childhood hero, an aging Joe Louis (Davis).
