Rachida is a young school teacher in terrorstricken 1990s Algeria. When stopped by street kids who demand she place a bomb in her classroom, she refuses. Shot pointblank and left for dead, Rachida miraculously survives. Under the care of her mother, far from the dangers of the city life, she begins to recover. Still, the struggle to find hope in such a violent world proves difficult for everyone.
