The Quiet Room
The Quiet Room ★★ 1996 (PG)
A nameless sevenyearold girl (Chloe Ferguson) refuses to speak when she learns her constantly quarreling parents are separating. Film is shown from only the child's perspective and her fantasies of a different life as she goes about her daily routine. Although the girl remains silent, she answers her parents in her thoughts (the voiceover lets the viewer into the girl's world) and she has flashbacks to her younger self (played by Ferguson's sister Phoebe) and when her parents loved each other. 91m/C VHS . AU Chloe Ferguson, Celine O'Leary, Paul Blackwell, Phoebe Ferguson; D: Rolf de Heer; W: Rolf de Heer; C: Tony Clark; M: Graham Tardif.
