Once Upon a Time in the West
Once Upon a Time in the West ★★★½ 1968 (PG)
The uncut version of Leone's sprawling epic about a band of ruthless gunmen who set out to murder a mysterious woman waiting for the railroad to come through. Filmed in John Ford's Monument Valley, it's a revisionist western with some of the longest opening credits in the history of the cinema. Fonda is cast against type as an extremely cold-blooded villain. Brilliant musical score. 165m/C VHS, DVD . IT Henry Fonda, Jason Robards Jr., Charles Bronson, Claudia Cardinale, Keenan Wynn, Lionel Stander, Woody Strode, Jack Elam; D: Sergio Leone; W: Sergio Leone, Bernardo Bertolucci, Dario Argento; C: Tonino Delli Colli; M: Ennio Morricone.
