The Hawks & the Sparrows ★★ Uccellacci e Uccellini 1967

Shortly after “Mr. Ed” came Pasolini's garrulous crow, which follows a father and son's travels through Italy spouting pithy bits of politics. A comic Pasolinian allegory-fest full of then-topical political allusions, the story comes off a bit wooden. Worth watching to see Toto, the Italian comic, in his element. 91m/B VHS, DVD . IT Toto, Ninetto Davoli, Femi Benussi; D: Pier Paolo Pasolini; W: Pier Paolo Pasolini; M: Ennio Morricone.
