The Girl Who Knew Too Much ★★½ La Ragazza Che Sapeva Troppo; The Evil Eye 1963

Ten years ago in Italy a string of “alphabet murders” began on “A” and ended on “C.” Now a pretty young American named Nora Davis (Roman) is visiting a family friend in Italy. When the friend dies and Nora goes for help—in the middle of the night, in the rain, wearing only a raincoat, alone, through an empty plaza—she witnesses a murder that happened ten years ago or does she? She shouldn't worry, though, because handsome young Dr. Marcello Bassi (Saxon speaking fluent Italian) wants to help her. Typically fun and frightening Bava fare with the script, cinematography and direction working much more smoothly than usual. 86m/B DVD . IT Leticia Roman, John Saxon, Valentina Cortese, Robert Buchanan; D: Mario Bava; W: Mario Bava, Ennio de Concini, Mino Guerrini; C: Mario Bava.
