Topnotch melodrama finds middleaged businesswoman Josephine Norris (de Havilland) recalling her past as she carries on through London's blitz. As a young woman, Josephine fell in love with a dashing WWI pilot (Lund), became pregnant, and had her lover killed in action. To avoid scandal, she gives the baby up for adop tion, although she stays in touch with his adoptive mother (Anderson) and befriends the boy. When Gregory (Lund again) grows up, he too becomes a pilot and visits Josephine—who's still longing to tell him the truth. Lund's film debut. 100m/B VHS .
