3:10 to Yuma ★★★½ 1957

In order to collect $200 he desperately needs, a poor cattle rancher (Heflin) has to hold a dangerous killer at bay while waiting to turn the outlaw (Ford) over to the authorities arriving on the 3:10 train to Yuma. Stuck in a hotel room with the outlaw's gang gathering outside, the question arises as to who is the prisoner. Heflin is continually worked on by the outlaw Ford, in a movie with more than its share of great dialogue. The two leads are exceptional, with Ford making the most of his character's cunning charm. Suspenseful, wellmade action western adapted from an Elmore Leonard story. 92m/B VHS, DVD . Glenn Ford, Van Heflin, Felicia Farr, Richard Jaeckel, Leora Dana, Robert Emhardt, Henry Jones, Ford Rainey; D: Delmer Daves; W: Halsted Welles; C: Charles Lawton Jr.; M: George Duning.
