Irish actress. Born Maria McCarthy in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland, in 1812; died in 1870; married Robert William Honner (1809–1852, an actor-manager), in 1836.
Maria Honner was born Maria McCarthy in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland, in 1812. In 1836, she married Robert William Honner, an actor-manager of Sadler's Wells from 1835 to 1840 and the Surrey Theater from 1835 to 1838 and 1842 to 1846. Maria Honner excelled in tragedy; she appeared opposite Edmund Kean and as Julia in The Hunchback (1835).
