Cox, Louise H.K. (b. 1865)
American painter. Born in San Francisco, California, in 1865; studied at the New York Academy under Kenyon Cox; married Kenyon Cox, in 1892.
Though skilled at decorative work, Louise Howland King Cox was considered at her best in her naturalistic portraits of children. Cox was elected a member of the National Academy of Design, and in 1900 was awarded a bronze medal at the Paris Exposition.
