German lawyer and politician. Born April 22, 1948, in Wolfratshausen, Germany.
Qualified as an interpreter in English, French, and Russian (1972); served as official of the foreign service of the Federal Republic of Germany (1987–90); as a member of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats, elected to 5th European Parliament (1999–2004).
