American basketball player. Born Aug 28, 1979, in Macy, IN; attended University of Notre Dame.
Center, led Notre Dame to NCAA championship (2001); played for Miami Sol (2001–03); as 1st overall pick for WNBA, signed with Detroit Shock (2003); named MVP of the WNBA finals (2003); won a team gold medal at Athens Olympics (2004). Won Naismith Award and named AP College Player of the Year (2001).
