American murderer. Born 1899; m. Armour Phillips.
Murdered husband's mistress, 22-year-old widow Alberta Meadows, with hammer (July 6, 1922); confessed to husband, who turned her in; because she had stalked Meadows for days before the killing, was dubbed the "Tiger Woman" by the press during sensational trial; sentenced to 10 years to life (Nov 16, 1922); released from Tehachapi (June 21, 1935).
