Mei (d. 1875)

Queen of Cambodia . Reigned from 1835 to 1847; died in 1875; daughter of Ang Chan, king of Cambodia (r. 1797–1835).

On her father Ang Chan's death in 1835, Mei inherited the Cambodian throne, but Cambodia was then controlled by Vietnam and had little power. Mei ruled for 12 years before she was deposed by Ang Duang, son of another former king, Ang Eng. Cambodia was made a French protectorate in 1864.
