McDonagh (resident doctor for J.C. Williams theater co.); sister of Paulette McDonagh (1901–1978) and Phyllis McDonagh (1900–1978); m. a wealthy banker.
Became an established actress under stage name Marie Lorraine; was directed by sister Paulette in 4 films: Those Who Love (1926), The Far Paradise (1928), The Cheaters (1930) and the sound film, Two Minutes Silence (1933); helped form Sydney's Ensemble Theatre.
