Italian novelist, short-story writer and politician. Born 1930 in Piemonte, Braà, near Cuneo, Italy; received degree in literature from University of Turin.
Elected member of Italian Parliament (1987); writings include Le novelle di Simonetta (1960), Il polline (1966), Un ciclone chiamato Titti (1969), Tosca dei gatti (Tosca and Her Cats, 1983), Il golfo del paradiso (Paradise Bay, 1987) and Tra le mure stellate (1991); probably best known for Approssimato per difetto (By Default, 1971), about her life as well as her husband's death.
