Countess of Stankowitch and a coloratura soprano. Name variations: Lagrange. Born Anna Caroline de Lagrange in Paris, France, on July 24, 1825; died in April 1905; studied with Bordogni and Lamperti; married Count Stankowitch also seen as Stankowich.
A French coloratura with remarkable range, Anna de La Grange was born in Paris in 1825. She made her debut in Varese, Italy, in 1842, and sang with success in all the great cities of Europe and the United States. In 1848, she married the wealthy Russian Count Stankowitch. Upon her retirement, she lived in Paris and taught.
