American actress and dancer. Born Maude Kahler, Sept 7, 1908, in Kankakee, IL; died Dec 20, 1944, of a heart attack in Los Angeles, CA; trained with Ernest Belcher; m. Busby Berkeley (director-choreographer), 1934 (div. 1935).
Made stage debut as a child ballerina; starred opposite Charlie Chaplin in The Circus (1928); other films include Barnum was Right, Broadway, Wonderbar, The King of Jazz, Easy Millions, and Jimmy the Gent; retired (1934).
