Irving, Isabel (1871–1944)

American stage actress. Born Feb 28, 1871, in Bridgeport, CT; died Sept 1, 1944, in Nantucket, MA; dau. of Charles and Isabella Irving; m. William H. Thompson, 1899.

Member of Augustin Daly's company (1888–94); as leading lady, appeared opposite John Drew in Rosemary, A Marriage of Convenience, Smith and Tyranny of Tears, and with Helen Hayes and Katharine Cornell in several productions; last appeared opposite William Gillette in Three Wise Fools.
