Hill, Thelma (1925–1977)

American ballet and modern dancer. Born 1925 in New York, NY; died Nov 21, 1977, in New York, NY.

Performed with the Negro Ballet—or Ballet Americana—in NY; collaborated with Alvin Ailey and was featured in his Revelations (1960); was a founding member of Clark Center for Performing Arts; also taught at City College and Lehman College of City University of New York; honored with the naming of the Thelma Hill Performing Arts Center, in Brooklyn.
