Gauthier, Xavière (1942–)

French novelist and educator. Name variations: Xaviere Gauthier. Born 1942 in France.

Worked as lecturer at Paris University; scholarly works, which examine and decon struct Freudian and surrealist versions of female sexuality, include Surréalisme et sexualité (1971) and Dire nos sexualités: contre la sexologie (1976); published transcripts of interviews with Marguerite Duras, Les Parleuses (1974); also wrote novels and essays and edited the feminist journal Sorcières.
