Caroline of Austria (1801–1832)

Austrian princess. Name variations: Karolina Ferdinanda. Born on April 8, 1801, in Vienna; died on May 22, 1832, in Dresden; daughter of Maria Teresa of Naples (1772–1807) and Francis I, emperor of Austria (r. 1804–1835), also known as Francis II, Holy Roman emperor (r. 1792–1806); became first wife of Frederick Augustus II (1797–1854), king of Saxony (r. 1836–1854), on October 7, 1819. Frederick Augustus' second wife was Maria of Bavaria (1805–1877).
